How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*The purpose of the Council is to consult with the Secretary of the Interior from time to time with respect to matters relating to the trail, including but not limited to, the development of a comprehensive plan, the selection of rights-of-way, standards for the erection and maintenance of markers along the trail, and the administration of the trial.
How is membership balanced?*Members are selected from affected States thru which the trail runs, private organizations, private landowners and land users, and Federal organizations administering lands thru the trail.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*The Council will meet approximately two times a year, and at such other times as designated by the DFO.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*No other committee is revelant to this trail.
Why close or partially close meetings?All meetings are open to the public.
Recommendation RemarksIn accordance with the National Trails System Act, statutory authority for the Council will terminate May 23, 2018. The Council held its last meeting May 15-16, 2018.

Number Of Recommendations CommentIn Fiscal Year 2018, the Council met once for the last time. No new recommendations made in Fiscal Year 2018. The Council terminated May 23, 2018. In Fiscal Year 2017, the Council did not meet. A tentative meeting was scheduled for March 2017, but was cancelled prior to publication in the Federal Register due to varied scheduling conflicts. A meeting was scheduled for May 2017, which was not held based on a hold placed on FACA committee activities until a departmental review is completed. NPS did hold an informational only conference call in which NPS presented updates to the Council on Werowocomoco planning, the Multiple Property Documentation Form and the draft Foundation Document.Access Agency WebsiteNo
