How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*The RAC generally meets several times a year to make recommendations on Secure Title II funds and Recreation Fees.
How is membership balanced?*This RAC is composed of 15 members, representing three categories - commodity, non-commodity, and local area interest. Each category has 5 members.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*The committee generally meets 2 to 4 times a year. The meetings are timed related to allocation of Secure Rural Schools Title II funds as well as land use planning efforts.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*This venue provides a diverse and informed perspective to the BLM regarding local application of programs and policies. As a chartered group, and with the rigorous selection process the RAC gives expert advice on the effectiveness and impact of programs and policies in Southwest Oregon. In addition, members of the RAC reflect the multitude of perspectives that are within Southwest Oregon.
Why close or partially close meetings?All meetings are open to the public.
Recommendation RemarksThe Southwest Oregon Resource Advisory Council was consolidated with the Coastal and Northwest Oregon Resource Advisory Councils into a single Western Oregon Resource Advisory Council.

The RAC did not meet in FY2020.
