How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*The Council meets in public usually every quarter to consider and recommend policies to the President to promote sustainable development. The Council will submit a final report to the President, containing all of its recommendations, during the first half of 1999.
How is membership balanced?*The Council balances its membership between representatives of business, non-profit and community organizations, and government officials, both federal and local.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*Council meetings are directly relevant to the policy recomendations being considered.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*There is no other forum available where top-level representatives of business, government, environmental, and community organizations can discuss sustainable development and recommend policies to the President.
Why close or partially close meetings?Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public. Occasionally, Council members meet together to share information or prepare for the public meetings. Any non-public meetings are consistent with FACA.
