How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	The AAPB Advisory Committee shall advise the Secretary of Transportation on issues relating to air ambulance services and patient billing by reviewing options to improve the disclosure of charges and fees for air medical services, better inform consumers of insurance options for such services, and protect consumers from balance billing. It shall also make recommendations with respect to disclosure of charges and fees for air ambulance services and insurance coverage, consumer protection and enforcement authorities of both the Department of Transportation and State authorities, and the prevention of balance billing to consumers.
How is membership balanced?*	Membership is balanced to include all the groups specified in the committee's establishment authority.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*	The Advisory Committee met three times: Once on January 15-16, 2020, once on May 27-28 2021, and once on August 11 2021. The first meeting provided the opportunity for the Committee to gather information on air ambulance and patient billing issues. The second two meetings produced recommendations.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	The AAPB is a statutorily required committee that brings together a balanced membership including the public and government.

Pursuant to Paragraph 11 of the charter, the AAPB Advisory Committee will terminate upon the issuance of the report required by section 418(e) of the FAA Reauthorization Act.
